In November, RCM will pilot a unique Master Composter course "Training Master Composters in Immigrant Communities".
Basically, we will be seeking immigrants who are passionate about composting and want to teach others about it in their community, in their own language!
The course will be offered in English only so participants will be required to be fluent in English. Also, part of the funds we have for this project will be to translate some of our key composting information in other languages!
The classes will be on 3 Tuesday and 3 Thursday evenings and two full days on Saturdays. The dates will be Nov 10th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 24th, 26th.
Resource Conservation Manitoba will organize the course, but we will need help from Master Composters! Without you, this initiative is not possible!

 Volunteer Opportunities for the course:

 * Speakers to give a presentation on a composting topic. Topics include:
 - Intro to Backyard Composting
 - Advanced Composting
 - Vermicomposting
 - Canadian and Provincial Waste Initiatives
 - Biology of a compost pile
 - Compost Maturity
 - Compost Tea
 - Presentation Skills
 - Compost and Plant Health
 - Natural Lawn and Garden Care
 * Office helpers to help get training manual together, print materials, help get materials prepared for activities etc...

If you are interested in helping out, contact us please!

Also, we want to advertise this in specific immigrant communities so if you know of any immigrant community organizations that we can contact to advertise the course, please let us know.
If you know of any individuals who might be interested in taking this Immigrant Master Composter Course, tell them to contact us. We will have more details later, but I just wanted to give you a heads-up.

 Thanks so much!
