Neighbourhood Resources Coordinator

Employment Opportunity

 

The North Point Douglas Women's centre is looking a Neighbourhood Resource Coordinator.  Our Neighbourhood Resource Coordinator is responsible for coordinating resources at the Centre, managing the Centre’s volunteer program, networking with other organizations and assisting with the drop-in. This is a full time permanent position normally Mondays through Fridays 9:30 – 5:30. 

 Duties include:

  • Sharing staffing of the drop-in during Centre hours including reception and creating a welcoming environment.
  • Advocacy, referral and providing information to drop-in participants
  • Helping to plan, put on and evaluate programs
  • Coordinating and developing the Centre’s volunteer program
  • Building partnerships with other community organizations
  • Keeping the Centre supplied with the things it needs.

 Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and guiding principles of the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre.
  • Experience working in the social service sector or other suitable combinations of education and lived experience.
  • Knowledge of issues facing women and their families in the North Point Douglas community.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working as part of a team is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Entry level counseling program or equivalent in experience
  • Basic orientation in volunteer coordination or equivalent in experience

 

It is a bona fide occupational requirement that this position is filled by a woman.  The successful candidate must be able to pass a criminal and child abuse registry check. 

Pay:  In range of $12.50 to $13.50 per hour
